Hello, VIPs, and welcome to 2017! This is going to be a fabulous year, I just know it. Although I am really excited with what the new year has to bring, I am very happy with the way 2016 treated me. I have a healthy family and a growing business, so there just isn’t much more I could ask for. Just for fun, I created this little informational image to show just how much support my cosmetics/skincare line, Amplify Cosmetics™, received. I am so very thankful for each one of you that spends your hard earned money on these “well worth it” products.
I have so much in store for all of you this year. There will be product giveaways, FREE makeovers, new product launches, and so much more. . . . And please, if any of you have suggestions on what you want to see from Amplify Cosmetics™ & Skincare this year, just message me and let me know. I LOVE hearing from my clients
The Studio has already gotten a fresh look for the new year. I still have a little more tweaking to do, but the brighter walls, antique mantle and buffet table have made all the difference. And I can’t even put into words how much I LOVE my new vanity mirror from Impression Vanity Company. The dimmable LED bulbs are perfect and give off the most beautiful natural light. I just love it!
Stay tuned for more updates and happenings from Amplify Cosmetics™!!!
From bikini/figure competitors at the NPC Iron Muscle Championships in Pearl, MS on Saturday morning, to cute little fashionistas here in Ripley, MS at the Ripley Modeling & Etiquette Fashion Expo 2016 on Sunday, it was a busy weekend for painting faces.
My partner (hair stylist) in crime, Amy Nance, and I left Ripley around 4:30pm on Friday to make the 3 1/2 hour drive down to Flowood, MS. Our makeup/hair appointments were to begin at 5am on Saturday morning. We got to meet some really great competitors at this event, and we made some new friends for life. We finally got to head home after the evening show touch ups around 5pm. And did I mention that my rock star hair stylist is also 6 months pregnant? She was a trooper.
We cruised into Ripley around 9pm and I could not wait to get home and relax. Did I just say relax? Scratch that. I remembered that there would be many, many girls that would need makeup done backstage before the Fashion Expo the next afternoon, so I had a lot of work to do before I went to bed. See, when I have to pack up at the end of the day when I travel, I pretty much just throw my makeup and brushes in my travel case in random order. It’s always a total mess. And my brushes needed a serious bath. Done. Got that taken care of and I crashed. On to Sunday’s festivities!
I wasn’t quite sure I would make it through the day. I really think this job has an age limit, so I am grooming my 8 year old daughter to take over soon. Very soon. Luckily, she is already better than some adults in doing makeup. Brenley was one of the cute little models at the Fashion Expo, so I was excited that she let me do her makeup the way I wanted to this time.
Needless to say, there was a lot of coffee and mascara going on this weekend. Until the next adventure!!
Hey, ya’ll! So I have taken a long year (maybe longer) off from my former blog. I thought it was time for a redo. I decided to call my blogspot “Coffee and Mascara” because, for those who know me, know that these are two of my favorite daily “must dos”. They are not optional. This won’t be a formal blog. One day I may just want to vent to ya’ll about what kind of day I’ve had, or how people have made it hard for me to “adult” for the day. Another day I may blog about the latest trends in makeup or hair. Being a professional makeup artist, I do have some fun tips and information that I can share. And I almost always have stories to tell. And by all means, if there is anything in particular you want me to talk about, please share. Looking forward to bloggin’ it up with all of you!
